Announcing Fare Community Kitchen!

Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Fare Resources used our commercial kitchen space and hospitality team primarily to provide impact-driven catering services for corporate clients across the Bay Area.

When COVID-19 landed in March, we were forced to suddenly pause our daily workplace catering services. At the same time, we saw that food insecurity, already an issue, was only going to grow as people lost their jobs and the economy tanked.

Enter Fare Community Kitchen.

In an effort to feed those in need, preserve local jobs and continue spending locally and responsibly, Fare converted our commercial catering operation into a community kitchen focused on helping curb food insecurity in the Bay Area. Our goal is to be part of the long-term solution to ensuring everyone has access to healthy food.

We purchase from organic and local farms, work to increase our purchasing from WBIPOC-owned businesses and aim to create empowering hospitality jobs by providing full health benefits, paid time off and a happy, respectful working environment, just as we did with our workplace services.

While the Fare team works hard in our Emeryville HQ to source quality ingredients and transform them into delicious, nourishing and dignified meals, our network of partners distributes these meals to East Bay residents experiencing food insecurity.

We support our communities through buying food from local, organic farms and producers, maintaining good hospitality jobs, and feeding dignified meals to those that deserve it most.
